Angel of the North

The Angel of the North is located in Gateshead, Northeast of England, UK.
The steel sculpture, Britain’s largest, was commissioned to Turner prize-winning artist Antony Gormley by the Gateshead Council.
Standing at over 20m tall and 54m wingspan (wider than a Boing 757), the Angel of the North is one of England’s most recognisable landmarks.

Tynemouth Priory Ruins

The Tynemouth Priory is a 7th century Benedictine Priory located in Tynemouth, Tyne and Wear, England.
Due to the strategic location, in a promontory overlooking both the North Sea and the River Tyne, it has both religious and military history, potentially from Roman times until as late as the 17th century.
The site is now managed by the English Heritage.

Boats at Cala'n Porter, Menorca, Spain. A couple of boats on the clear blue waters of Cala En Porter. The water is so clear, and in combination with white sands, the shadows of the boats on the sea floor are very defined, and almost seems like the boads are just floating.

Lighthouse at the Newhaven Harbour, Edinburgh, Scotland. Long Exposure image, made from inside the harbour. Newhaven is a district of the city of Edinburgh, at the north of the city, between Leith and Granton. The lighthouse and pier are a favorite spot with local fishermen.

Long Exposure at Praia Cabo Modego (Cabo Modego Beach) in Winter, Figueira da Foz, Portugal. As the tide gets lower, rocks submerged at high tide get exposed. This beach is all but gone at high tide due to erosion, in contrast to just a few years ago.

A cliff, Dunsapie Crag, reflected on the waters of Dunsapie Loch, Holyrood Park, Edinburgh, Scotland. The loch is located just to the East of the iconic Arthur's Seat. Dunsapie Loch is one of three lochs located within Holyrood Park (aka Queen's Park). Everytime I go for a walk around the area, I'm always amazed that such beautiful locations can still exist right in the middle of a capital city.

Panorama image of Loch Dunvegan, Isle of Skye, Scotland. The Island visible in the center of the image is Lampay, a tidal island reachable in low tide. On the left, the promontory is Dunvegan Head. The small stretch of white beach on the right is part of the Coral Beaches of Skye, a mass of (not coral) but dissicated algae (Maerl - Lithothamnion) mixed with small shells, and unique on this island. Just beyond it, the Isle of Isay (Iosaigh in Gaelic) can be seen.

Mealt Falls and Kilt Rock, Isle of Skye

The Mealt Falls (foreground) and Kilt Rock, Isle of Skye, Scotland. South of Staffin, on the A855 coastal road, a viewpoint allows a magnificent sight over the Mealt Falls and Kilt Rock. This is one of the top tourist locations on the Trotternish area. The distinct rocky cliffs were formed during the Jurassic era, with horizontal sills of volcanic material pushed between older strata. The desintegration of the cliffs originates fragments with a peculiat cylindrical shape. The Mealt Falls drain the Loch Mealt nearby, famous for fishing and bird-watching.
