Juggling torches left alight on the cobblestones of the Royal Mile, Edinburgh, Scotland. The Royal Mile is, without question, the most visited area of the city and used by many street artists for some live performances. Fire is usually published in color, but I don’t think color is needed here.

The St. Peter's Square, Rome, Italy, is adorned by two majestic fountains: Fontane di Piazza San Pietro. The fountains were created by Carlo Maderno (1612–1614) and Gian Lorenzo Bernini (1667–1677). This is an image of the Bernini Fountain, located on the southern part of the square, comissioned by Pope Clement X. The inscription reads "Paulus VI Pont Max Restituit"

It was Autumn... Although usually the gold of fallen leaves makes for a nice image, this time I thought that no color was needed to tell this story.

Sandy Irvine Robertson was a known wine merchant, founder of the Scottish Business Achievement Awards. Died on June 20, 1999, aged 56. The Malmaison Hotel, previously Seaman's Mission, a hostel for sailors, before suffering a deep renovation, can be seen on the background. Glencoe Lochan with Sgorr Dhearg and Sgorr Bhan on the background (not sure if I got the correct mountains). Handheld 3-shot HDR, converted to black and white. So far, and in spite of the not so nice weather, this is probably my favorite region of Scotland so far.
