Lighthouse at the Newhaven Harbour, Edinburgh, Scotland. Long Exposure image, made from inside the harbour. Newhaven is a district of the city of Edinburgh, at the north of the city, between Leith and Granton. The lighthouse and pier are a favorite spot with local fishermen.

The Portuguese National Pavillion (Pavilhão de Portugal), Lisbon, Portugal, designed by Alvaro Siza Viera, sheltered the portuguese representation at Expo 98 and was designed to be the architectural centerpiece for the Expo. The roof covering the center plaza has no supports other than the two porticoes. Parque das Nações, the development originated after the Expo 98, has many examples of modern architecture, both in commercial and residential spaces. This area also features Europe's largest Oceanarium, restaurants, bars, event halls and permanent exhibit halls. Parque das Nações is located right next to the Tagus River (Rio Tejo) on the East of Lisbon.

A Royal Mail letterbox in South Queensferry, Edinburgh. While decreasing in numbers, the red Royal Mail letter boxes still punctuate British cities. The Forth Road Bridge, as well as hills in Fife covered in snow, can be seen in the background, illuminated by the golden sunset light.

The Malmaison Hotel, previously Seaman's Mission, a hostel for sailors, before suffering a deep renovation, can be seen on the background. Small hut on the Granton Harbour, Edinburgh, Scotland. This is one of two such structures on the long East breakwater (over 3000 ft - 1000 meters). The Middle Pier (1700ft long) can be seen on the background. Granton Harbour dates from the 1830's with the East breakwater being finished in 1863. Granton Harbour was once home for a large fishing fleet and the destination for ferries across the Firth of Forth. Now it is mainly used by yachts from the Royal Forth Yacht Club. Due to its length, going deep into the Firth of Forth, the East Breakwater is also a popular location for amateur fishermen.

The Fernsehturm (TV tower) in Alexanderplatz, Berlin, Germany. The Fernsehturm is Germany's tallest structure, standing at 368 meters tall, and it's one of the most recognizable symbols of Berlin. Located in the heart of Berlin, Alexanderplatz, the tower can be seen from almost any region of the city. The boat-shaped structure is the roof of the Pavillion at the tower's base.
