After a few tribulations with personal circumstances, both for myself a couple of the co-hosts, we had to de-prioritize the show for a while. So, after a 8-month long hiatus, episode 85 has just been released.

We talk about new cameras, filters (Lee Big Stopper vs B+W), curved sensors, very high photography prices, Flickr, and a bunch of listener questions.

Yeap, it’s true. As incredible as it may seem, at least to me, PhotoNetCast, the photography podcast hosted by me, Brian Auer, Martin Gommel and Jim Goldstein, just got a bit older. The 28th episode marks our 1 year anniversary.

On a personal level PhotoNetCast has been a fantastic experience. For these 28 episodes, if I count the show prep, recording, editing and publishing, on a quick count, it’s probably more than 200 hours of time invested in this project and worth every minute of it.

Our objective, since the beginning, has been to produce a quality show in which we can openly discuss our ideas and topics that are brought to the table, independently of our point of view. It has not been an easy task with all the hurdles for a beginner in the medium, but personally I’m more than satisfied. I believe that PhotoNetCast is informative and entertaining to listen, and focuses on topics that matter for all photographers, independently of their “level”.

PhotoNetCast allowed me to reach to the great photographers and industry professionals we had as guests and learn while they share their opinions. Yes, learn. The show has been a huge learning experience. My appreciation to all of them.

The audience feedback has been superb and it’s all that support that motivates to keep producing and always trying to publish a better podcast, every episode. Thank you. This is what makes me believe that PhotoNetCast is becoming a reference podcast for photography.

And finally, Brian, Jim and Martin: Thank you very much for joining me on this trip. It has been a year of waking up early or staying up late and fighting with sometimes frustrating technical issues, but also a year of great laughs and shared knowledge. Here’s to many more years doing this together.

Double feature for PhotoNetCast. Two new episodes in the same week.

In PhotoNetCast #13 we answered some listeners’ questions regarding photo management software and photo marketing. It was an interesting discussion, and as always, we have four great links on our "Selected from the Web" regular episode feature.

In PhotoNetCast #14, we share our thoughts on Photokina 2008. A small review and the feeling of such a big event. If you were not there, or if you were and plan to get back, Photokina 2010, in Cologne, Germany, from September 28 to October 3, 2010. Hope to see some of you here.

Where stock photography is going, from the big names like Getty and Corbis, to the smaller microstock (and some not so small) is a much debated topic in photography forums and blogs.

In this episode of PhotoNetCast, we discuss where stock photography is going and share our own views on microstock, prompted by the recent announcements that Photoshelter Collection is going down and Corbis is cutting jobs.

In the beginning of the show, Brian also reviews some problems he had while increasing hard drive space for his photography backups.

In our effort to bring you has much different views on photography as possible, and because we do believe that the work done by war photographer Zoriah should be divulged as much as possible, we interviewed him for the eleventh episode of PhotoNetCast.

It’s lengthy (just passing the 80 minutes mark) but it’s worth it.

Zoriah is a very open person and had no problems discussing both his career as photojournalist and his recent projects in Iraq and the West Bank.
