Pick of the Week: Photo Edition – April 21, 2009

A MarquesFiled under:Pick of the Week: Photo Edition

For this edition of Pick of the Week: Photo Edition I’ve noticed a pattern in my choices – Black and White. Not all, but I’m spending more and more time admiring black and white photos. I hope you like the selection.

Don’t forget to go to the photo pages and leave your comments. I’m sure the photographers appreciate it.

Five Stars of the Week

Jenna, by Stefan Veres

I have to say that I’ve spent a LONG time admiring this photo. Overall, everything seems right with it. The backlighting creates a perfect mood, and even the light in the curtains looks good. My Five Stars of the Week.

Do I see some love for Black&White?

    ;)

    See ya.

    Hey Martin,

You most certainly do. It’s one of those cyclic things, but more and more I’m convinced that if color is not adding much to a photo, it should not be there. With B&W I tend to look more at details and the interplay of light and shadows…

Thanks for dropping by and see you on PhotoNetCast.

I think my favorite is the b ball player. He’s got a great action shot, combined with some of that sweet sidelighting post production work. I’m such a big fan of that lately, even though that’s not really what I tend to shoot. Great stuff.

I really like that shot of the girl throwing her hair back. Nice gathering of some good flickr streams.
